"The Legend of Spyro" trilogy, that came after A Hero's Tail, has it's fans mostly due to the heavy focus on story, but from what I have heard they are still pretty iffy on the gameplay aspect. Also, the mole minigame levels are at best mediocre, at worst just incredibly tedious and by far the least liked part of A Hero's Tail. I think the new Sgt Byrd flight stages are quite fun and refreshing, Spyro controls pretty well and they definitely had a good gameplay loop going on, but the game is a far cry on the absolute diversity of levels, music and minigames of the earlier games. It's pretty much a broken alpha build of what the game was planned to be originally.Ī Hero's Tail is pretty decent, it plays well, but I think it really suffers from repetitive environments, it's like the game levels are carved into the mountains, so if you can get used to playing levels with varying shades of mountain walls, it can be quite fun. Enter The Dragonfly is pretty trash and might not even be worth a try.
